Factory sights on a glock

I don't own a glock but Ive pretty much told myself that will be my first handgun. (Glock17)

My question is that do the 3rd gen glocks come with fixed sights? If they do then has anybody had any trouble with them not actually shooting true to the sight?

I have a fair bit of experience with rifles and shotguns and I know that everyone shoots differently therefore each gun is "usually" set up and shoots best for that person.

that being said. with guns with fixed sights is the shooter expected to correct his shooting style for the gun or should the gun be modified to the shooter?

There are aftermarket sights that are fully adjustable and there is also a tool
available from Brownells that will allow you to move the stock sight if need be.
Most people I have talked too say the fixed sights from the Glock factory are
usually, pardon the pun, Bang On.

^ This is true. Also some, myself included have had trouble with shooting a Glock out of the box. It takes a bit to get used to. The trigger weight and length of pull is quite different compared to others. I recommend not adjusting any sights until you get used to the gun and how it shoots. I made that mistake. I could slaughter with my 1911, then when I switched to my Glock, I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. Then I started adjusting things and just screwed everything up. It took a few range trips but now I'm just as accurate with my Glock...

Got my first Glock (17) a week ago - used from the EE. Its a Gen 3 with fixed factory sights. Shoots dead-on. Now I know why Glocks are so popular. Its simple, affordable, well-made, accurate and looks to be durable. Now looking forward to mastering that "Glock feel". Enjoy the purchase and happy shooting!!!!

Glocks come from the factory with fixed sights, adjustable sights or night sights.

This being your first handgun, I wouldn't be too worried about trying to modify the pistol to suit you.....more likely you'll be modifying/learning the proper techniques to shoot it.

Shooting a pistol is completely different that shooting a rifle or shotgun, there are no points of contact other than your hands, that in and of itself takes some getting used to.
