Fail to feed in CZ 75

Ok. Weird occurrences lately. A very new (<1000 rounds fired) on my CZ 75 Shadow, and at first it was just happening with one of the magazines (thought it might be due to a very slight imperfection on the back of the mag). Either on the first round, or somewhere down the stack I would get a FTF and a subsequent jam. Drop the mag, clear the jam, pop the mag back in and it happens again. Drop the mag, empty the mag completely, load 5 rounds back in, and then no problem. Now all of a sudden it is happening to all 3 mags, so I am pretty sure it's not the mag itself. Could it be the way I am loading? I load manually and with the uplula. It's happening with both. I clean my pistol after each use, ether I shoot 100 or 300 rounds, and like I said, still under 1000 through it. I haven't yet taken down the magazine, so that's my next step, but any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

TIA

When you say FTF, do you mean failure-to-fire or failure-to-feed?

If it's a feeding issue, I suggest taking the mags apart and cleaning them. Look for carbon and grit on the sides of the followers and on the inside of the mags. I've run into similar feed issues with mags dropped on sand.

Sorry. Like the title says it is indeed a failure to feed. I will try taking them apart and cleaning them. They've never been dropped or anything or even been outside, but I'm sure there's probably something there. I'll report back. Thx

If I understand correctly, you stated it has always happened intermittently from day one with one mag but now has progressed to be more frequent and all mags. Are your mags and internal parts all original? Is some internal part out of spec preventing free slide movement?

Are you shooting reloads or factory? I reload for my buddy's CZ75 and I've had to adjust my reloads 'cause they've got pretty tight chambers.

Most likely the ammo. Had the same problem with my CZ 75B a month ago and have since found the problem to be my Reloads. Made some adjustments and its now flawless like all other CZs. Assuming the gun is cleaned once in a while.

What ammo are you shooting? Very wierd that the problem is now exhibited on all three mags. I had similiar problems with remingston umc ammo and a problematic mag. Hope the issue doesn't get contagious and infect my other mag. Its a cz like mag for a grandpower.

Hey guys. Thanks for all the info. Everything is original since day one, and it only started happening a few weeks ago, maybe after my 4th time out with it. I don't ride the slide, and I doubt it's the ammo, as I had bought a factory case of 1000 PMC rounds. I just cleaned the mags yesterday so I'll see if that might be it, but if it's the OAL, how would simply reloading the magazines make a difference? Is it possible they're not sitting right in the magazine and thus aren't feeding properly?

Check the COAL on a few rounds and see what it is.
Perhaps there is some discrepancy in the seating of the bullets.
I find using the max OAL on my 9mm causes some misfeeds.

If you have been shooting the same batch of PMC ammo this entire time, you should try different ammo for sure. Try a box of CCI Blazer Brass.

What happens when you load up a mag and manually load/eject rounds into the chamber. See if you can make it fail.

oh, and since you've had your mags apart, are you sure you put the spring and even the follower back in the right way? I can't count the number of times I've seen that messed up.

You could also check the opening on the feed lips of the mags. I know I start to have feeding issues when the lips start to spread apart. When the lips spread (on the mags guys, on the mags), The rounds try to load to vertical, instead of horizontally.

Check the feed lips. It is a only a rumour but apparently one of the czech subcontractors that supplies cz with magazines used softer steel for one batch. Like I said it is only a rumour circulating in Europe
