You obviously have seen only a few 700 BDLs then, and the poorer ones at that, since I have owned over 100 of them with nary an extractor problem. Some of these rifles are on their 3rd barrel. Extractor problems do happen, but are not nearly as common as your statement would suggest. That 222 obviously needs some attention, though.
