Every so often, probably about 2% of the time, my Norc will fail to pick up the following round causing the dreaded "click...no boom". I have three mags and need to figure out if it is magazine related (I have cleaned all mags when I first got them). Are there any rifle related issues that could cause this? I keep my norc well greased and clean....?

mark your mags, and track which one is in when it fails.

not sure how you check on that platform for under gassing can cause this as the bolt won't go back all the way.

make sure the mags allow the rounds to easily strip off by hand. if you find a spot where they are sticking or binding, try to figure out what and fix it.

also, not sure what ammo you are using, but if its a bit on the weak side, it may not have enough oomph to fully cycle it all the time.

Someone with more M14 experience will probably have more/better advice. Good luck

If it is a new mag remove the follower and polish the front, back and sides where it contacts inside of mag. I did this at local range one time with new mag by rubbing follower on wooden shooting bench. Problem solved.

Failures to feed can be mag or gas system related. Rarely, very rarely, ammo related. Mags can have slightly oddly bent lips or occasionally the finish will interfere with the follower rising properly. Best thing to do is download the FM's from Bigger Hammer and read 'em.
