Failure to fire :( No primer strike

I was out skeet shooting after work, and my shotgun would not fire.

Single shot, Hungarian, hammerless. This is the first time I have shot it in over 18 months, I only ran 5-10 rounds through it right when I bought it and it worked fine.

No primer strike on the round, Any ideas how to trouble shoot this? It clunks when I pull the trigger so obviously something is happening with the mechanics of the shotgun that is supposed to be happening... but there is no primer strike on the round.

Without know the mechanics of your particular gun, I would take a guess at a gummed up floating firing pin channel.

After you pull the trigger can you take the gun apart without resetting the firing pin?
If you can, see if the firing pin is protruding.
Another way is t take the barrel off, and while holding a spent case against the firing pin hole, pull the trigger.
The firing pin should be protruding . If it doesn't, the pin is broken.

Broken firing pin, and something is kaput on the inside in relation to a spring or a sear. Now, how much money should I spend on doing an exercism on a shotgun I paid $130.00 for.

Probably zero $. Chock it up to a mistake and spend another $130 on a an old used reliable gun.
