Fair price for Trailboss?

I have a couple of cans of Trailboss that I picked up several years ago. A coworker can't find any for his CAS hobby, so I will sell (or trade) mine. Just wondering what a fair price for it would be, so we can both be happy.

I see some at NorthPro Sports for $70, so that's a start. If he ordered from there, there would be tax and shipping/hazmat fee. I was under the impression it was discontinued...

And not to be a jerk, but unless you really like the guy, I wouldn't part with it for cheap. If you bought a bunch of steak for $10/lb, do you feel obligated to sell it to someone who missed out on the sale?

Not trailboss. They come in those 9z because it's a very dense powder and will fill a case with very little.
For example 10gr is enough for subsonic 308win so 9z goes a long way.

Haha, very not dense. Super low bulk density. You just said it backwards. Super light, and takes up alot of room for a low charge weight. Works great for low velocity rounds for basically every cartridge.

NorthPro will not ship powder.

I dont understand why its so hard to get your hands on, I have been looking for a year and a half now.
It is wildly popular for cowboy action and makes the best subs of any available option.
Maybe it's all going to make subs for the Navy Seals???

Thanks for the feedback. I reckon what I'll propose is that he can pick me up a couple of cans regular rifle powder (H335, BLC2 or such, see what I am low on) and we can swap.

I got these pre 2021(ish) and the price sticker is $49.99, but I know it's worth more than that, just wasn't sure what inflation and scarcity made a fair value.

Trailboss is not being used to load military ammo. It will not cycle a semi-auto rifle.

I've passed deals on to buddies for what I paid...

I think the only consideration beyond that is whether or not you'll need to replace it as the prices continue to go up up up!

I think you have to consider how much you like this buddy, ha ha ha.

They may have it because they refuse to ship it, this stuff cannot be found anywhere, not the big shops at least.

Does Northpro actually have it, or does their website just say they have it?
Seems to me given the scarcity and desirability of it if they had it in stock someone within driving range would have cleaned them out to either horde it or flip it for $100 a bottle on here…

Well I'd be happy to sell him my Trailboss for what I paid in 2020, as long as he let's me buy the gold coins at the price he paid in 2020.

Would find out how much of a friend he thinks I am. 😉
