FAIR SXS

Opinions on the Fair inside ext sxs ya or nay ? Other?
I love my Iside Vintage ( hammer 20) , which is built from the Iside action.
They are a great SxS gun, I have several friends who shoot the Iside with both shotgun and rifle barrels .
Some find them a bitblight for the 9.3X74R barrels that are available , but in my 20 gauge it's a fantastic shooter.

Looks like you have put a few rounds through your Fair thanks for your reply.

I have the iside vintage as well, originally had some quality control issues that were supposed to be repaired under waranty by the fair gunsmith Bruce tauber, that experience left me with a real sour taste with the iside and that man in general. Once I got over it I have been using the iside vintage for most upland hunting since, it's a nice light gun for walking up on grouse, only complaint now is it could use some chequering on the hammer spurs but that shouldn't be a problem for you if you get the hamerless one

As far as quality goes the thing i noticed the buttplate looks like it was installed with a body grinder. Cleaned it up a fitted it all is good now. Nice field gun in 36 and 28 gauges but it won't replace my Beretta target sets but thats another story.

There is a huge gap in quality and price between the cheap SxS shotguns and the quality SxS shotguns like rhe AYA #2 and Grullas, so there is definitely a market for a decent quality, yet affordable SxS. Had the Fair SxS fit me, and been available from other dealers when I started looking for a SxS, I would likely have tried one.

This Fair fits me well right out of the box swings like a dream at it's price point I think nothing out there comes close. Nice wood and excellent metal work nice slim barrels even with choke tubes that look like long thinwalls very little bulge like most tubed barrels. Aside from the poorly fitted buttplate I give this Inside sxs 9.5 out of 10. And yes there is more than one dealer in Canada now.

I have an Iside Vintage as well, nice gun , just that I think the triggers suck on it, which can probably be fixed. I noticed they were stiff enough in pull weight that the gun torqued when pulling them.

I have the Iside Prestige Tartaruga Gold 28 inch barrels 20 gauge. Barrels are well regulated but it shoots a little lower that I would like. Just have to remember to cover the bird. I have smoked a couple of grouse ground swatting with it but a person shouldn't be ground swatting anyway so my bad. This gun is really quick and much better in the bush hunting Ruffies than in the open field pheasant hunting. It is just a little light in hand for a consistent, smooth swing.

Nice gun you have there. My 20 gauge has 30" barrels that seem to swing smoother. This Fair 36= 28 gauge combo has 28" barrels and the comb is higher than my other sxs it seems to fit me very well.
