Fair trade?

A few years ago my father gave me a nice Enfield No5 JC. He has now moved back to Alberta in a beautiful little piece of Gods country known as Water Valley Dad says he needs a little carbine around the house so I can give him back the JC or something else....So I have an extra FR-8 I was gonna offer him. Is this fair?
