Was just talking to my buddy (new owner of the 28 ga) He confirmed it is marked Winchester Western on right side and Cooey on the left. I owned that gun for 50 years and never knew that fact. Mind you it was in a storage lock up for more than 45yrs and never saw the light of day. He is happy with the purchase and I am happy he now has it.
I traded for it in a Peterborough gun shop (Griffin's) in what I would guess was 1970.
