Hey guys, was thinking about picking one of these up to replace the standard A2 flash hider on my AR.

Do they change the characteristics of the rifle? e.g. noise, muzzle climb etc?

How big of a job is it to get my flash hider off and get this guy on?

Thanks

It does nothing but look cool and make your gun long and bulky

Getting your A2 flashhider off is easy "with the right wrench" DO NOT use an adjustable!!!!!!

I think I'll order the spikes one from questar that threads down the barrel and makes it look like a short barrel with a suppressor...

why not just tie some lead fishing weights to your rifle to make it muzzle heavy and unbalanced?

Funny people say this...yet they would never bring it up if we were talking about a sniper rifle with a real suppressor.

Sure, it changes the center of gravity of the gun. But if precision shooters can deal with that for real suppressors, i'm fairly sure you could manage to do the same.

The spikes one is actually a shroud that doesn't extend your barrel length.

Also I am not a woman so I think I can handle the extra few ounces.

I know I'm not in a "street gang" but i have rucked for long ass times carrying a c6 I think I know a bit about heavy firearms.

Its always classy to tell someone what they should and shouldn't like.

where to start... hmmmmm

i never really had the opportunity to carry the C6 around, as for most of my 16 years in service i was carrying the C7 and C8... i guess im just not as bad-ass as you..not knowing what PBR Streetgang means dates you a bit and makes me think that your tase in movies is as bad as your taste in rifle accessories. i would think after your ridiculous rant about NEA fanboys that would ease up on saying stupid things on this site and perhaps give a little respect to the people that have been here more than 3 months, but i guess i was wrong there.

really, thanks for your service..i feel safer knowing your out there somewhere..

Spike's make two fake cans. Both are made opposite to each other. I have both and want to use the back threaded one on my Jr Carbine. Will give that short barrel, surpressed look.

That's what I'm thinking, might have to shoot questar and email tomorrow and get me one ordered, it'll make my carbine look like sbr.

I had one of the fake cans from Questar for a bit. It came as part of a deal so I had a chance to see... I just don't see the point. It doesn't do anything. BUT...a member here was pleased to buy it so it wasn't junk!

What is the point?

Is this really a forum to be asking this ####? If I wanted to pick apart every guy who had something on his rifle that wasn't OPERATIONALLY EFFICIENT I'd be here all night.

"pbr streetgang this is Almighty do you copy?"

Yeah, just watched the blu ray version last night with my son and daughter's boyfriend. Along with the opening music (Doors), the cinematography really freaked them out :D F#cking masterpiece in my opinion (particularly the blu ray version)

Just remember, Charlie don't surf ;)

I tried the fake Spikes can that does not shroud over the barrel and it f'ed up everything. The different internal diameter of the fake can combined with the gas pressure coming out of the barrel totally hooped all accuracy. I was getting 8" groups at 20 metres. Rounds were tumbling like hell. I would avoid that one like the plague.

Putting aside the difference between putting an actual, real, working suppressor on the end of a gun, and a large barrel shroud, for want of a better term (after all, it's your money), be aware that the model that screws on back over the barrel will leave you with effectively no muzzle device.

It will be the same as shooting a crowned target barrel. Nice on a long barrelled target rifle, but not so good on a relativley short barreled AR, unless you like fireballs.

Regards.
