Fake Can/Suppressor - Illegal?

Well, unless you have pulled a few prohib. firearm arms off the road as well as a handfull of prohib. devices from some gang bangers you'll see what I'm talking about. Some guy with "fake" supressor on the end of his rifle is asking for trouble..at least where I work...sorry the onus would be on him...

Why does it not surprise me you are from Ontario?

Oh and by the way mr pOlice officer. As you are obviously unclear on the basic precept of our legal system :( we operate under an innocent until proven guilty system. The onus is on the authorites to prove their assertions not the other way around.

That you are a police officer and don't understand this most basic concept is SHOCKING to me. :(

I would dearly love to be able to have a suppressor. They would add so much more enjoyment to the whole wonderful process of shooting. They are so right it should be illegal to make them illegal.

dude this is a gray area. at what point in the manufacture of this thing does it become a suppresor....nice laws we have here in the north eh.

And, again, I say that you are a terrible person and it is a massive shame that you're a police officer. You're a disgrace to the spirit of law enforcement.

"What I'll do is hassle this guy, seize his rifle, and REALLY put him through the ringer... that's how we roll in Ontario!"

And you wonder why a large portion of the membership doesn't trust people in your uniform?

I have been through the "ringer" before to prove my innocence and it cost me my time, mind and $3000 for a lawyer for 10 minuntes of the courts time to see that the initial charge was ridiculous.

Ah the simple thing to do is just charge them and let the courts figure it out deal! Real smart move.

What a "cop out"!

Maby now some of you will understand where my fear, and distrust of the police come from! Here in Ontario we are on the verge of a police state with officers like this prowling the streets.

Tell ya one thing....If I stopped you, I would charge your for poss. prohib. device and let you prove it in court that it's fake..nevermind seizing your rifle as well...

You are a disgrace to the profession.

You are exactly what is wrong about LEO.

You are the reason a lot of people hate 'f**king cops'.

The guy specifically asks about doing something legally, and the best you can come up with is that you would charge him for something you perfectly know is legal, just so he would get in trouble.

As an individual you seem to be an a**hole. As a police officer, I don't even want to think about it.
What are you even doing here? I suggest either you never come back to this site, or start a new account and never say something like that again.

If you can't see the difference between a crack dealing gangbagner and a guy with a tacticool .22, I guess you're the kind of cop who trusts the registry.

Surprise, surprise - gutless lang deleted his original post.

I sincerely hope he gets caught frivolously charging someone who has the means to nail his ass to the wall in court - and is drummed out of the profession with great fanfare and successive financial ruin.

What a disgrace.

That's scary... a wannabee cop wants to look cool with a fake suppressor... ;)

you said it, i dont understand how some officers are in the profession they want to be in. this makes me think of power and control. they have the power to do something where as we (citizens) have to listen or something could happen. Possibly a bad upbringing, or being bullied in school can have drastic effects later in life, ie. blaming it all on someone else for them not even doing anything wrong. Making everyone else their 'b*tch'.

Depsite the fact that what i am intending on doing is legal, he made it his initiative to make my life a living hell. Good job there mr. cool cop, i think they may have pulled the wrong file after the psych test or something.

Anyways, i thought that this thread had died! I have a fake MFI suppressor on the way for smith and wesson m&p 15-22! i got a brake for my .308 from roedale precision in germany. Pete Lincoln is the man! C21.5 is the model number for a 700 sps tactical.

this mock suppressor that i got slides over the barrel not adding any actual length. if i got a threaded fake suppressor the only stayed the end of the barrel adding an extra 6 or so inches to the rifle. would i have to change my gun registration since it is a restricted firearm.. or in a better sense. I have found a fake suppressor for a .17hmr that i plan to get to make it a more tactical look as well, it is a straight threaded fuppressor that sticks on the end of the gun. does that make the barrel actually longer? or is that not considered adding length?

well i know it isnt on a precision rifle but i got it finally...

it is 100% not real.. does not suppress sound at all... more directs the sound down range but other than that.. no difference

Well best of luck with that fake can you got there... I wouldnt touch one with a 50 foot pole. To much potential for a negative interaction with some uniformed rookie.
