Fake cans/suppressors

Instructions for them don't recommend live firing. They are basically a solid cylinder of aluminum with a 223 sized hole through the middle.

Very happy with my purchase. Have a couple long barrel NR rifles that don't look retarded now. I'll test to see if accuracy is effected and post the results.

Are the Gemtech fake suppressors good for live fire like the surefire units? Or display only?

hmm thanks for the question. Indeed the manufacturer says display only, ie not for firing

we will inspect the units closer to see if they might possibly be firable somehow

There is still quite a bit of pressure at the muzzle which could affect something solid trying to contain it and aluminum would burn out fairly quickly from the heat of the muzzle blast. There obviously would not be these issues on a reverse can. .22 rimfire might be ok though.

I've never bought or seen any of these; what is better to look for: low weight or the ability to be able to shoot with the unit mounted? I have seem some that say 'display only'. Has anyone ever had one get damaged or cause damage while using it on a firearm?
