The .308 SPS Tactical Remington 700's are really popular. Many have threaded barrels designed for use with a suppressor (where legal).

So the better question is... Why wouldn't you put it on a Remington 700?!

Not necessarily, the GSG 1911 has threaded barrel and works with a fake suppressor.

Unless the pistol has a fixed barrel, putting a fake suppressor on will prevent the gun from cycling properly.
