looking for a optic for my tavor. was going to order a millet dms for it this week until i seen the falcon menace 1.5-5X30. i know both optics get good reviews. but now i am unsure wich one i want to order. are there any pros or cons for the menace versus the millet? also where are falcon products manufactured? their website says their scopes are all QC'ed in England but that dosnt mean they are manufactured there. optic will be used for 50 to 100 meter shooting with the very occasional 200 meter thrown in. it will be siting in a buris AR p.e.p.r. mount. any reponces would greatly be apreciated.
 
For what you are planning, either will be fine. If you were going to be shooting at longer ranges, the FM has better adjustment turrets.
 
Although it is more expensive, you might want to look at the Viper 1-4 PST for your rifle.
 
I have a Falcon 1.5-5x that will be going on my Tavor. It's a good overall affordable scope. I happen to really like the reticle. The glass is 94% light transmission so it's good but not the best. Still it's pretty good.

Sorry I don't know anything about the Millet.

I bought my Falcon from Allen gunworks. I know he was a dealer on this site. Price was good. Service was good.

I won't know until it's on the Tavor how the combo works but it looks like it should do the job. I have a number of other Falcon scopes on my 22LR rifles and they have been good.

The Tavor is still the bargain in 21st century rifles. You forget 3K with the M21 optic which is worth another $500 or more. Look at the cost of it's contemporaries. Even the XCR is $2300 without optics. The SCAR, ACR etc won't be cheap if you can even get one.

I'm a big fan of the AR platform. If they were non restricted I'd probably own a lot less rifles. That being said the Tavor is a rifleman's rifle. It has clear advantages if you're not worried about modularity. Built on a piston system, bullpup so 18.5" barrel in a package shorter than a M4 with the stock collapsed. The bull pup mag change problem has been solved with the Tavor. Mag changes are excellent with the tavor. Shooting off hand, it beats the AR handily. Standing, kneeling and prone. It's a better battle rifle for the rifleman. So if it's a $1500 rifle then the Colt 6920 should be priced at current Norinco prices.

In which case a $300 optic isn't so bad is it?

Here's a review of the 1.5-5x. I bought mine before this review with plans of putting it on a Type97 but we all know how that ended up.

I've read good things about the Vortex 1-4 pst. It's about twice the price of the Falcon though. If I were going "tactical" scope for a .308 such as my RFB I would no doubt consider this scope. 4" of eye relief is very welcome with the .308. I don't really need it though with the .223.

Looks like a decent option if you're willing to up the budget. I'd have to read more reviews on them. I've never seen one in real life either.
