Falling Block 45/70

"Foothills of AB.", does that mean southern portion of the province? If so, stop in at Pro-Line gunstore on 9th ave Calgary...betting they will have something that suits your needs.

The Pedersoli line of Sharps and High Walls are good shooters, nicely made and the most reasonably priced of the modern production rifles. Shiloh and C Sharps are very nicely made and of high quality but don't tend to shoot any better than a Pedersoli despite their exponentially greater pricetag.

edit: forgot to add that in your neck of the woods there's Bilozir Guns who are a direct stockist and are very nice to deal with.

Mark, this is a WTB ad and should be in the EE, not the discussion forums...

However, a B78, 1885 or Ruger No.1 will fit the bill... the .45/70 versions are usually in higher demand and sell quickly, so keep a sharp eye out... cruise the online stores and talk to your local shop about possibly finding one at a partner dealer.

This. ^^

I'll not part with my Pedersoli 86/71. Well made and finished plus very accurate with my hardcast loads. I've handled/fondled the Pedersoli Sharps along with the Hi Wall models. All are beauty units and are fitted with match grade barrels.

I bought my falling block from the US through one of the online auction sites e.g. Gun Broker, Guns America, Guns International. Prices are in $US dollars and I used Prophet River to get the rifle imported into Canada and shipped to my home. It was a pretty smooth transaction,
