FAMAE 540 FAQ: Why its cool, and you should own one

One is normal and two should be the overgassed to blow debris out your colon.

Colin, very nice find on the training videos.

FYI, did a service shoot with the 540 this weekend, low mounted red dot is fine standing but prone the zhukov stock needs a cheek riser for a comfortable sight picture.
I ordered all 3 available from bownells to try out.

I'm still rocking those original 1970s drop comb stocks and a Manurhin quick detach sight mount with a ZF1 four power when needed.

Makes using the scope kind of a whack-a-mole pop up stance.

The original manurhin ones built in France came with metal magazines.
That goes for both 540 and 542 from Manurhin.

I do not know if they are compatible with the polymer ones of today.
I am not sure if FAMAE ever built mags out of metal for the 540.

FAMAE 542 mags are metal and the SAF mags are offered in both polymer and metal.

I have wondered if the SG530 and the AR70 from Baretta share the same magazine designs?
Or if the swiss SG540 test models shared the same magazines as the 530 or AR70 too?
Might be getting too finicky on my thoughts.

Famae 308 magazine fit the manurhin 308 542
Sig 550 magazines appear to fit Beretta Ar70, as they were co developed at the time. They would appear to
need fitting to work . Beretta Ar70 rifles used steel magazines
The French had the 308 540 bayonets made in blue steel, they made more bayonets than the gun order
There used to be a lot of new surplus bayonets for sale in the 1980’s in America and Europe
The one’s I have for the rifles are green plastic with blue steel metal

Someone has a 540 with metal magazines on gp, and insists they're original 223 magazines for the rifle, so I was curious
