So is the two it comes with the only ones i will ever get? Starting to regret buying this rifle.

I think the calgary shooting centre has them in-stock, if not check with ERE Systems

Richard is not bring in any Famae stuff till Famae sharpens it's pencil. He went to reorder with them and they jacked up the prices on everything. I don't mean a little, but a lot. A rifle landed in Canada would cost at least as much as a Swiss Arms. Which one would you buy, when these were brought in to be a cheaper alternative to the Swiss Arms.

That's insane.
The price is already inflated to retard levels.
If they came in at around $2K (still highly inflated for a stamped, semi surplus battle rifle) I would be all over one. They are nowhere near worth the $3K+ sticker prices I've seen.
Couple that with $100+ Magazines and almost no parts support = f**k that, no thanks.
Which is unfortunate because I would be all over one if the price came down to Earth and spare parts were available.

I’ve often b!tched about these things. At $2k they are around the threshold of their worth imho.
The mags at $135 are grossly overpriced, but they’re proprietary and no other options exist.
In Europe they go for around €85.

It would be great if Canam or similar came out with a polymer option like they did with the Swiss arms, but I’m guessing not enough of these SG-542s are in the wild here or anywhere else to warrant the investment.

The magazine prices killed these rifles in this country. The 542, in my opinion is the best of the lot when it comes to .308. Decently accurate and reliable as heck. Some of the other NR options such as the XCR-M or the BCL bring immediate questions as to they will feed bullet x or bullet y or not. No such issues with the Famae. If they had a $2K price tag and their mags were $30 like the Dominion Swiss Arms mags, then this would be a done deal.

I am surprised nobody brought the idea to norinco... I would gladly give $100 bucks each for norinco made mags. Especially if the Famae is purposely gouging.

Yes. Just as posted above.
Also wrt all the complaining about price, the mags are specially constructed for the small Canadian market. Check out the price for a plastic Tikka magazine in comparison: https://www.cabelas.ca/product/5906/tikka-t3-flush-magazines

Well played, CSC. Well played.....

Don't like the price? Complain to FAMAE in Chile and see how far that gets you! Either you grit your teeth and pay the price for a few mags to run your gun, or you don't. Sitting here and complaining about it online is beyond useless....

Nope just verified. They are military mags that are pinned and swiss arms mags work.

I'm debating one of them used if the BRN-10 thing goes pear shaped.
Is the parts situation still essentially "you're f**ked" or did any dealer manage to get parts kits in?

They are trying to get the FAMAE rifles into America. So they increase
The price for everything they make

Grrrr!
They could hit a home run in the USA and Canada with them if they make them affordable to the common man instead of just dental surgeons and stock brokers for f**k sake! lol
I've been humming and hawing over one for years but the price tag keeps me well at bay every time.
Other than that it's about exactly what I like in a battle rifle. Just can't justify the sticker for a stamped metal Swiss Arms knock off when you can buy a Swiss for about the same price.
Maybe it's just me?
