Famae saf hand guard

Nice... looks like they are using metal mags with them to. Those would be good to get ahold of. I can try emailing them in english or I will wait and find someone who speaks portugese to type and email for me. I am guess they wont just send a part out tho, It will probably have to go through a dealer.

More than likely. Wolverine would be good ones to talk to. They are in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

I called Wolverine before they just said sorry we don't have any left... I think the phrase they used was "that boat has sailed"

When I asked about any infromation or help they baicially said I am on my own.:jerkit:

Just a heads up for everyone... DHL is flipping useless. First they beat the crap out of this package so the hand guard breaks...I call the day of, litteraly as soon as I opened the package, to report the damage, they say that before I can file a claim someone from DHL has to call to schedual an inspection and to expect a call in the next day or so.

A week later I still haven't recieved a call back so I phone DHL they say that I need to talk to the office in BC that deals with claims, they tell me that a message has been sent to my local DHL office and to expect a call. The next day a message is left on my answering machine at home (I left them my cell number too but they never tried it) the lady that left the message says I need to call her back to confrim the waybill number before they can schedual an inspection. Not a problem however she fails to leave a number to call her back.

I phone DHL back and they tell me that the call was from the local office so I can't give them the information I need to talk to the lady who called. I tell them she did not leave a number and ask if I can have the local office's number. They tell me they can not release the number that they have as it is not a public line, the best they can do is send the office another message to call me back. Once again I leave my home number and cell number to call me.... you think that has happend yet?

I'm just venting, but I just wanted to make everyone aware I would think twice about shipping with DHL. It is bad enought the package was smashed in and the irriplacable handgaurd shattered the way it was but now their customer service in resolving the issue is even worse.

Sorry to hear it man.

I got some Cold Blue delivered from Wholesale in Calgary through DHL.

SOMEHOW they managed to open the lid of the container without opening the box. Something tells me they like to play tackle football with small boxes... Luckily the safety seal was still in tact when I opened it, or there would have been a crap load of hazardous chemicals all over the box and the truck.

The entire company must hire work-release program criminals or something, since the ONLY thing I've heard about DHL are bad things....

about wooden grips:

If they attach any way similar to the Swiss Arms fullsize series, it would be quite difficult. If you didn't have any little locking tabs on the inside it may be a little more possible, but you'd spend a whooooole lot of time with a Dremel Tool and a 1/4 inch sanding drum.

Wooden grips will not work, nor will metal because of how the attach on the bottom. So I am still not sure what is going to happen I am still trying to find a way to get a replacement part and so far DHL has been nothing but a pain in the @$$

There's another Famae in the EE. Buy it, and then you'll have a second for spare parts. If you plan to use this gun, then having a second is a good idea, as you will never be able to buy parts for it. Lot of people do this with HK P7s.

I owned a Famae Mini. I called Chile to try and get some spare parts, after 20 minutes on the phone they found someone that spoke english. They will not ship any parts to civilians or will they ship to Canada or the United States. They wouldn't even tell me if parts are available.
I loved my mini but without parts the gun is useless. If the mags break you are stuck with a very expensive hunk of metal. I tried the uzi mag conversion but couldn't get them to load properly.

Can I ask who ships restricted firearms with DHL??? If I bought a firearm from someone I would ensure they use Canadapost to ship (not that they treat there packages any better)

Good luck!

There was a company in Portugal which listed the Famae SAF family along with manuals.
