FAMAE SAF/Mini SAF/SAF-200

Ahhhhhhh!!! I just bought a BRS99 because the Famae was almost impossible to find on the EE and when it was there it was way overpriced.

I just did the same:eek: and your right that some people wanted a fortune for there Famae.I sold mine i think for 1700.00 a couple of years ago. What a stupid mistake :HR:

Is the fixed stock available as well? What type of mags and will extras be available? Will spare parts kits be available? Price for all the above? :)

We may look into the SG 540 as well, but there are already plenty of 5.56/.223 rifles out there;
Yeah... so bring in something in a non-restricted .308!

You bring in a non-restricted FAMAE SG 542 for around the $2000 price point and I will snap that up so f**king god damn fast you'll get friction burns from the money.

For the love of gawd, import the first batch without buttstocks & insist the RCMP classify them as "pistols" and NOT "Commercial Version". With 10 rnd mags, you'll increase the sales of these things to a ludicrous amount.

It doesn't work that way. The SAF and Mini SAF already have FRT #'s and both models are were previously imported into Canada. The RCMP would laugh at your "insistence."

The only way around it would be for FAMAE to produce a new pistol model and sold as such. Magazines would also have to be specially manufactured with clear labelling that they were for the FAMAE SAF PISTOL as is the LAR-15 PISTOL magazines. That they can also be used in full size FAMAE firearms doesn't matter. For those who desired, a stock could be purchased after, or retailers could offer complete carbines such as Questar did with original LAR-15 pistols. I don't believe it would be necessary for FAMAE to re-engineer or eliminate the ability to install a stock (either folding or fixed) from the new "pistol." Under our stupid laws, if you label it a duck, if it looks like a duck & you market it as a duck...then it is a duck...or in this case, a pistol.

Ok. It's now official.

I need to make more money than I am currently. :shotgun:
Too many cool guns, not enough $$ to go around!

how have the mags been neutered? just a rivet?

We havent made any formal decisions, but have suggested pop rivets to the manufacturer.

Very Interested: 9mm models only or can we get the .40S&W versions?

Regards,

We are looking at just 9mm everything for simplicity's sake. Until we can establish a solid working relationship with Famae we'd like to keep things as simple and easy in the beginning.

I wonder will the SA-200 mags fit the Mini-SAF?

They are interchangeable

Are these pinned for 5 or 10 rounds??

Im guessing 5 like my TP9, or skorpion or BRS i use to have.

Pinned to 5; classed a restricted rifle "commercial version"

Fixed stock available as an extra; we don't have pricing yet. Spare parts will be available eventually.

How about buying a spare folding stock for the Mini? Also, which spare mags are available? 20/5 straight, 30/5 straight, 30/5 banana?

We are having the Mini SAF's come standard with the Folding stock. It's looking like the community is going with the metal stock on this one. 5/30 staright mags.

Does the 200 stock fold?

Yes

The 200 has no sights?

The SAF-200 has a flat top picatinny rail. Flip up sights can be installed if you so desire.
