These are three new rimfire additions I got a week ago. The best part is they are family firearms, given to me at no cost!

#1 Remington Nylon 66 (.22)
#2 Cooey Model 60 (.22)
#3 Savage Model 72 (.22)

The cooey required some TLC. I cleaned it up and did a quick/cheap sand and finish of the stock.

Family Guns are the best kind, not because they are free, but because they are part of your family history. I had to suffer through the loss of my Grand Father's extensive gun collection because his Good for Nothing piece of Garbage Son Z(my mother's brother) inherited them, and turned them into booz or drugs...

I'm the oldest grandson, my mom inherited one piece. It is now the only one left from the collection. I am working on getting the last piece left transferred into my name.

To any one with guns in the family, please make sure the people that they will go to truly want, and cherish them.

Totally agreed. Free is nice, but it's the memories, history and connection to your family that make them great. I am very proud to have them passed on to me.

I was passed on a Remington Model 6 from my father and it was my grandfathers before that. (he bought it new for around $8 :D)
My son is just about that age that I'll be passing it on to him soon.
I hope he will pass it on also when the time is right....

Time to review our wills. Make sure our firearms are inherited by those who will care for, use and cherish them and more importantly, pass them on to the next generations.

Just wondering if my Norincos and SKSs are worth passing down, :D They will last for generations for sure.

The Cooey Model 60 sure brings back some memories as I grew up shooting one of those and boy does it look to be in good shape.

When I was at the range with it, a man came up and said he bought one when he was 12, at Sears with a note from his mom, lol. Rode home with it sitting on his bike handle bars.
