The ambi safety looks similar to the Wilson add on that I had on my Mark 4 Series 80 Colt. Worked well.

I'd be interested in one of those guns if:
1) The metallic finish was durable (Is it nickel plated?);
2) The gun was ipsic accurate ( I don't expect Bullseye accuracy from a $349 gun)
3) The sights were decent.

As far as question 1 above goes, if the frame is Norc Hard Chrome, it'll look exactly the same in 200 years, those guys know how to hard chrome!

I believe the corner is clipped on the right side safety lever/tab and it swings clear of the slide. The left side safety is not clipped and slips into the notch of the slide like normal. There's a common shaft connection between the safeties so it can be engaged by either thumb depending on your grip.

I'm wondering the same thing as Coltfan, there are normally 2 styles of ambi safetys, the standard one uses an extension that slips under the right grip to hold the right side on, such as this one from Ed Brown :

The other style uses an extended sear pin with a notch in it to hold the right side lever on like this Mueschke Unit

It would be nice to know how the right side safety is held on and how secure it is

hmmm....I am saving for the new 12.5 grizzly quite a while, now need to steal my son's money bank coz mine is already empty.

BTW, I want two. put a nice wood grip and maybe have my buddy to do a nice triger job.

kinda looks like it has an over sized mag release as well?
best looking full size Norc yet, they'll get snapped up quick.
but my cash is going to a mag fed shotgun...

The ambi safety is similar to the one originally designed by Kings Gun works. the pins sticks out of the right side and is grooved, and the saftey is machined so that it swings around and slides into the groove on the pin, it is very cool and eliminates the small flat part hat must ride under the grips. The Kimber Tactical Custom II 1911's also have this system, it is very nice.

These are very much like the Israli Arms M5000 that ARMCO was selling this time last year.

Yup... just doesn't have the squared, sereted trigger guard.

Nice looking piece.
