Fantastic Idea for New 30 Cal Wildcat!

I love it! As long as it shoots as flat as my 270:)

Aaaww, flat's no fun - then you can't make proper use of the slide-em-up-and-down 1000yd. vernier tang sight! Speaking of which, I should really snap up a patent on those Sharps style peep sights, since we're busy re-inventing things from over 100 years ago. . . :p

I'll have mine in a Drilling, please. And I want all three barrels regulated to different ranges, 100, 300 and 600 yards.

If you have any Nigerian investment money left you could keep the creativity juices flowing by going the other way and necking a 270 down to .17

We can call it the Andy One Shot!

I should get 10% of the profits for my help.

Would it be appropriate at this point in the thread to ask how well this new "wildcat" would perform in a bear defense situation:D

Bears? There are bears around? I was just talked off the ledge about headspace concerns (I now have a gunsmith check my guns between shots) and now this?

While we're on the topic of safety, I want to warn people about the possibility of corrosive ammunition being used in this round (are you absolutely sure your primers and powder are not corrosive?) causing the barrel to turning to dust unless you rinse it with pure ammonia within five minutes. If it's a Spanish or Italian gun, it's three minutes. Crap - I just realized that there will be no published loads! Now we'll have to wait until at least five powder manufacturers publish data for this new Wildcat, and then you should find the lightest load and reduce it by 10%.

EDIT: Wait - you can't do that (I just read about SEE)! We need to forget the whole idea - shootin's dangerous.
