I have a fair amount of information on Single shot rifles and have seen pictures of Farrows but have never saw one until this one came along a few years ago. Wilton Farrow was atarget shooter in the late 1800's and shot at Credmore for the US at times plus shot in Europe both long range and 200 meter off hand, mostly with Ballard rifles since at that time he work for them.
He started to make his own rifles in 1885 but I have no idea how many he made. So what value is this rifle?

The last info I have on the Farrow Single Shots shows a value of 3-4K if in very good condition(original) most were originally in .30 Long Rimfire. Either way you have a unique rifle that most Single Shot collectors would give an arm and a leg for . If it were mine I wouldn't part with it for any money but I collect Single shots. Is this your only SS or do you collect them?

The price of $3-$4K applies to a completely original gun. I think the value of WR1894's gun is more in the order of the combined value of its components. The big imponderable is the value of the reciever. One might argue the barrel is worth $2-$400, the stock perhaps about the same, but the big guess is how much to factor in for the reciever.

Ben, I have quit a few single shots but this is the only Farrow I have seen and I agree the value of the reciever is the question and that is the hard part but I bought it and seller was happy and I am happy to have it. It took me 10 years to get it. I was just woundering what you guys would value it at.
Thanks for the input
John
