Ive come to the point in my life(45) that I need a pair of reading glasses to see up close but don`t wear glasses full time. Now the problem I have is I can't focus on the crosshairs of my Luepold VX2 rifle scope well enough to shoot comfortably without a pair of reading glasses.Plus I can't seem to focus the scope what ever I try with the focusing instruction for the scope. This is bugging me because I don't hunt with glasses and this screws me up in the field.
But my Vortex Viper with the fast focus I have no issue with.Anyone had a similar problem?

I have the same eye issue ( geezer vision) but I find on an older Leupold m8 4x if I screw the ocular out a lot it will produce a good image but of course if I put on glasses its out of focus. It is for this reason that my main rifles have fast focus ocular lenses.

What you want is "diopter correction" on your scope. I have been farsighted my whole life and I have no issue with most scopes binoculars with "focus" adjustments.

All scopes have diopter correction. Some are fast adjustment and some like the Leupold have a locking ring to loosen before you can adjust the eyepiece out to the right place. The way to do this is to look at a plain wall or the sky (obviously where you can do this) and adjust it so that the reticle is clear the instant you look through the scope. Once you get it set you'll be good to go for a year or two :)

The reticle and image should be to your eye, at near infinity when the ocular adjustment is properly set. Time to play around with the adjustment.
