Fast 6mm build opinions

I have a long action Ruger M77 Mk II with a .473 bolt face that I want to turn into an antelope rifle with a side use of open prairie coyotes.

Thinking fast 6mm, but unsure of what cartridge, twist and bullet would be best. Looking for opinions from everyone.

First thought is 6mm06 or 6mm06 AI. 240 Wby would be an option as well as brass is avaliable, but 2 bucks a pop is a little obscene. Anyone have a 6mm-284 on a long action? Is 6mm06 brass just a matter of running 25-06 through a FL die?

I was thinking a 90 grain Swift Sirocco II at 3400 + fps. 26" barrel for sure. Wondering about twist rate too, would a 1 in 7 or 1 in 8 tear apart a 55 grain coyote bullet? With less over bore cartridges I have never witnessed a disadvantage to a fast twist, but I've never owned any super fast cartridges either. Any real world experience?

I built a 6mm-06 awhile back, and yes simply run 25-06 brass thru your sizer and you are ready to roll. I ran a 1-9" and probably would again. On a long action my vote is 6mm-06, short action 6mm-284 would be my pick.

In the end I sold it and kept my 243 - but I still do have a soft spot for the round and I kept the reamer and dies "incase".

I had a 1 - 12" barreled 243 that I had rechambered to 6mm-284 loaded 90gr TSX @ 3550fps.

With the 1 - 12" twist I couldn't stabilize bullets over 90grs.

I shot the barrel out fairly quickly = I am looking at rebarreling it now not sure if I am going to stay with the 6mm-284 or not.

If I do the barrel will have a 1 - 10" twist rate so I can stabilize 90 - 100gr bullets.

Im just finishing up putting together a 240wby. Plan on shooting the 85gr Barnes TTSX's.

6mm Remington, 6mm-06 or 6mm-284 would be my choices, the bolt face without alteration limits your choices a little.

A fast twist barrel throated for heavy for caliber bullets would be sweet in the 6mm Rem

I have a 6-284 built on a long action with a 27" 8 twist on it, just got it finished and haven't had time to shoot it yet but I'm thinking it's gonna be a rocket! I used a Wyatt bottom metal with detachable mag and it seems to feed just fine with a dummy round. I used an 8 twist so I could run the heavy bullets.

I have and have had several 6-284s and highly recommend it. 1-9 will stabilize any bullet made in 6mm but I found my favorites to be between 80 and 95 gns. One of my old ones loved 95 gn Nosler BTs and I shot several caribou with it. Also with Norma adopting the 6.5-284 there is lots of brass out there in Norma and Lapua, both high quality options. I also still run across W-W from time to time and buy it when I get the opportunity, which is why I have in excess of 500 rounds of new W-W brass at this moment. However I have several rifles and cartridges based on the 284 Win case so 500 isn't really that many.
The 6mm-284 is at it's best when run in a long action as bullets can be seated out so as not to encroach on powder space and the longer match, VLD/ULD and homogenous bullets can be used more effectively than in a short action.
