I just added a new Lee Deluxe Perfect Powder Measure and stand to my set up. Cut my time/cartridge significantly. Love this new powder measure and Lee in general.

I use the Lee Auto Drum and have nothing but good to say about it. I use it with all three of my presses, Turret, Pro1000, and Loadmaster. A reliable powder measure does speed things up indeed.

Which powders are you using? I have a plastic PPM and it meters ball powder well but stick powders still need a trip through the scale. Shooting for 1/10 gr accuracy however. How does this one do with stick powder?

This discussion was covered in another thread, but I can't find it now. But most people find that the Lee Perfect Powder Measure and the Lee Auto Drum are essentially equal for consistency. Most find they will throw within .1gr with Varget and other similar extruded powders. One fellow did a pretty exhaustive test with both. I can't recall the exact results, but basically it was dead or within .1gr for the majority of loads, and within .2gr for most of the balance, with one or 2 loads going as far out as .3gr.
But for the bulk of shooting, even .3gr would be difficult to tell the difference. That said, when I am loading for my 204 Ruger, I use my Chargemaster rather than the powder thrower.

The videos show one of the reasons I prefer the auto drum, versus the Perfect Powder Measure shown. The PPM has a fairly short handle, making it more challenging to cycle smoothly. The Auto Drum is case activated, and due to the leverage involved cycles smoother. The Auto Drum also has multiple drums, allowing you to preset them, and leave them set for specific loads, so is faster to change between loads.

I do skip the scale, just doing spot checks along the way, but most of my loading is for milsurps, not really precision.

That's funny, the Lyman #55 is supposed to be pretty good. I just did a couple thousand 9mm with 231 with the Auto Drum, and never found one that wasn't dead on, which surprised me truthfully.

I love the Lee for repeatability and it is usually very smooth with the "elasomer" wiper feature. Having the auto trickler hooked up to my A&D...its really not much time to weigh everything now.
