fast question

You need to get an "open choke" or "open cylinder" and screw it in to protect the threads. Personally, I think all the effective range is gone without a choke, but each to their own.

Ok i will look for one of them. i am useing slugs so i am sure they wont effect range. do you know if beretta makes a open cyl? i have been checking chokes on ebay and they are mostly full or what they call turkey choke??
the choke the guns comes with is called a 'rifled spreader choke' i plan to shoot foster type slugs so a rifled choke is no good.

Funny, I use a Remington 870 with an 18" barrel that is factory Cylinder choked, and I can hit my skeet targets all day, as long as I am doing my part, between 20m & 30m. Its what I use hunting in the bush with great success.

If you are going to be shooting rifled slugs then improved cylinder or modified will work just fine. You could also use full if stuck, but I find a more open choke works best with slugs. Your local gun store should have something that will work.
