Same, I hate cutting my tag first day but will do it if the right one comes along lol

well you should have seen the monster I shot last year.

2nd day of season walked out about 150m and stood broad side to me, I thought hey that's a nice big doe, well bang flop (25-06) and when I walked up to it I saw the big doe had balls and little stubby antlers, one was 4 1/4" and the other 4 1/2"

so there went my buck tag... but I did get 2 more does last year.

I've had several moose hunts finished up by 10 AM on opening day.
Kinda makes me feel like I was cheated out of a hunt.

Me too...but shooting moose doesn't count.

Last November got to my area 20 minutes before legal daylight hunting - watched my watch unitl it was legal to hunt - did one grunt call less than 7 minutes later Mr. Buck came out took a 30 yard shot - walked away slowly (thought I missed) stopped wobbled a bit then fell over - the best part was that my dad was watching him come towards the truck (he was waiting inside) needless to say from me getting there and putting the tag on the antlers was about 40 minutes
