Fastest 22LR Ammo

IIRC the 'optimum' length for complete powder burn on a rimfire 22 is about 16 inches or so, and the bullet starts coasting from there on out.
Not as huge a difference as between advertising writers and the real world, but...

Gopher season is coming soon...:D

Inquiring minds gotta know!

Thanks!

Cheers

stingers

I have found the velociters much better than the stingers. They are not quite as fast, but are heavier bullets and hit harder. The velociters are way more accurate in the guns I own. I also like the mini mags for fast and accurate!!.

Quick shot is very nice to use on gophers and it seems to be real loud coming out of the barrel. Instead of a pop like other .22s its more of a snap when you pull the trigger. Its not much but you can tell you're shooting something different than a normal .22. It does the deed when hitting gophers but better than a normal hollow point? I'm not 100 percent convinced. Maybe 75 percent there but some more testing is need.... weeeee!!!

PS.. still haven't found that guys business card yet.

A couple of the places that I shoot varmints is around outbuildings close to houses, and the owners need to prevent the marmots from getting under those buildings to die and rot. So last year I tried the CCI Quick-Shok, and I love them. They seem to shoot to about the same POI as the stingers, I like the brass cases, rather than the nickel (I hope it's easier on the rifling), but what I really like is the shock. On a body hit, I rarely get an exit wound and even if the hit was a little less than perfect, it seems to stunn them for a few seconds so I have a chance to run-up and grab them before they start trying to kick into a hole.
