I picked up a Magpul P-mag for my Olympic lower, but the only way I may get it into the mag well would be with a rubber mallet. Anyone else had this problem?

Nope, it has 5.56x45 printed on the side. I just got done some fine Dremmel and sand paper work and it fits good now. It was tight on the backrib, and back corners. Fits snugger than the metal mags but can be pushed in with 2 fingers.

all it takes is one manufacturer to be a thousandth skinnier on the tolerance and the other to be a thousandth fatter to cause problems.

Some of the early P-Mags were a little fatter than many in-spec ARs liked and the fit was tight and/or mag did not drop free. This issue is one major reason why Magpul did the P-Mag revision, changing specs for the mould and a few other tweaks. I have both older P-Mags from the first production runs and the latest. The older mags were "fatter." A little light sanding should fix the problem.

I have a bunch of Pmags dated 07/07 that work well with all lowers I have tried them in.

I also have a bunch of Rev M dated 03/09 that are alot tighter in the magwells. Maybe the tolerances were changed in later models?
