FATHER WHOSE 3-YEAR-OLD SHOT TWO TURKEY HUNTERS DURING YOUTH SEASON CHARGED WITH FELONIES

Can't make a positive target identification at 39 yards??? I feel less bad about the hunters now who mis-count the tines on elk antlers now and shoot a 5 point at 100 yards. Still wish people would be better, but I don't understand how you could be much worse than the guy in the news story

I don't know any one who would or should condone a 3 year old
set up to pull a twelve gauge .
Or giving a 9 year old an uzi .

There is no right or wrong age for kids to start shooting , some
Fathers need some guidance in appropriate calibre.

Fun fact we have almost the identical number of firearms related accidents in Canada per capita as the US, with about half the gun ownership per capita...so we are in fact roughly twice as likely to have a fatal firearms accidents in this country. Neither country reliably tracks accidental firearms injuries that are not fatal but those are estimated to be roughly 10x that of fatal accidents. So, that sort of inverts your smug little theory...according to the department of justice and stats canada in Canada and johns hopkins and the CDC in the US.
It's about 4X-5X, not twice, and I've got $100 that says our the vast majority of our fatal accidents happen with grey market/smuggled firearms.
