Father's day NO TAX SALE at Lebaron's June 10-19

One guy at the gun shot at the Montreal Store was a real pain in the ****, but I've generally recived above good services from the other ones. Thing is though they almost never have what I need in stock. And I'm not a very peculiar customer I have 12 ga, a 30-30 and a 22 I don't see how I could be more mainstream. Once they were out of clay pigeons for like a month! I still don't understand how it's even possible I mean they are probably the store that sell the most 12ga shell in all Montreal, out of Clay pigeon?

The other time they had no discount 30-30, just the ones at 30$ a box. Is 30-30 a really obscure caliber?

Anyway, I usually end up going to Dante even thought they have the s**ttiest attitude ever and thus will always try to run you a bill, but still they do have the things I need in stock.

Its funny how people say Canadians are so nice and polite, yet almost every Canadian store(especially big box stores) could and should take notes on how the Americans give customer service. Now I cannot speak for all of the USA, but from just the border towns around where I live, and stores down in the South, I have always received TOP NOTCH customer service.

Hit and miss

I usually go in with my wish list and get a few items. They are really close (Mississauga). It's not always bad as they usually have some of the stuff I'm looking for but when the conversation starts off with me asking, "So I guess you guy's don't have any _______ in stock?". If they do have it I'm just like all the other hoarders, I take what they do have.

They have never been rude with, but then again I have never had any serious issues. A few times they even went out of their way, I had a LeBaron membership and my mother wanted to surprise me one year with a shotgun for my birthday. She was told she would save alot if she purchased a membership as well to purchase the gun for me. Long story short LeBaron held the shotgun for me until my birthday and extended my membership another 10 months or so once they cancelled my mother's membership.

The owner of the company lives off gun owners but she won't give ten cents to any gun rights organization.

She feels warm and fuzzy one day, so she bans handgun sales in her stores.

Guilty conscience about shopping there?

Why not take a portion of the money you save and donate it to The CSSA. That would be perfect karma.

Don't forget her decision to ban the sale of PELLET guns that resemble handguns.

Its part of the hiring process. You need to fill all the following requirements:

1) s**tty attitude
2) ignorant
3) arrogant enough to make every customer feel like you are doing them a favor
4) let everyone that walks in the store know that you know everything and are NEVER wrong.
5) Never admit you made a mistake or are wrong, even when you are.
6) When a customer asks for an item, tell him its out of stock, without even looking.
7) When a customer asks for an item, tell him its out of stock, because you are too lazy to go look.
8) When a customer asks for an item that's not in the catalogue, tell them to get lost.

That is just the gun shop though.

I've only been to the Markham location, but every other employee who works in the camping, fishing, clothing, and "outdoors" sections as well as the ladies behind the cash who get the ammo are very pleasent and couldn't be more helpful.

Maybe, but its the guns/ammo/powder/hunting stuff that I went for. All the fishing/camping/clothing stuff can be bought anywhere...

What availability? They only have 1/4 of their catalogued items in stock. They'll put firearms on special in the catalogue, even though they only have one of each...

Oh I was referring to the number of stores in my area.

The last 2 times I went there they didn't have what I wanted.

WoW the power of word of mouth ive never dealt there and now for shure never will they sound terrible. I learned a long time ago when i started my business its all about service treat people right and they will come back.

I can't stand them or any other store that makes me feel like I'm putting them out by shopping there. There are other options in the area. Londero isn't bad - at least the owner is in the store and tries to help. And there are 2 stores in Ste-Barbe (population 1500), almost right across the street from each other. Some weird feud going on there, but they are helpful and pleasant with their customers.

I just have no time for #######s.

Aholes

Almost 90% of the gun stores I personally visit are packed with attitude. I don't get it. Shooting sports are not exactly "mainstream", why wouldn't they try to encourage repeat customers? Instead, most places you go you have guys behind the counter who simply want to argue how much they know vs. how little you know. Or, at the big box stores you get the guys who act like they are doing you a favour by serving you when they finally can't ignore you any longer, just so they can tell you they have nothing you want. I deal with our site sponsors and have had good results with all the ones I've dealt with. I think they sponsor this site because they want to serve people like us.

P.S. P&D is the Mecca of gun stores.

I phoned and talked to the manager, and that's who I got the attitude from. I've had FAR better service from the dealers on here and locally, and Lebaron isn't much cheaper on most items anyway.

Piss on them.

The management pushes and encourages the bad attitudes. They also hire anyone with a gun license for beheind the counter in the back. Trust me folks, there is no use to arguing or complaining with the management or the owners so dont bother. However I heard "Ottawa" might be getting a new outdoors store thats much bigger Le Baron near St. Laurent. Originally owned by the other side of the Le baron family when they broke up and then it was baught out by a larger company. Might be called something like "Special Baron" or something.

I tottaly agree with you, but does it realy surprise you that you get that kind of reaction from those people. Like look at the forum, you can't say anything on here without getting your head cut off by armchair mouthpeices, most of the time people are not welcome to say anything on here because of the same type of attitudes. Those same mouthpeices get to work at those stores we all go to and being behind the counter just magnifies the bad attitude. I have been on both sides of the counter and can understand where some of the attitude comes from because you get some very difficult people to deal with all the time, and I personaly had some horrible experiences behind the counter, but I have had almost the same amount of trouble from the buyers side as well.

The reason for the constant "OUT OF STOCK" is because the Le baron owners will never be in debt for something, they pay all their orders up front. They also never make small orders, they wait until a lot of their stock is gone before making an order and then order in mass, for all product. The other problem is they put out a catalogue like sears and people expect service like sears. What they need to do is put our a small paper flyer with up-to-date product.

Just shopped there again today picked reloading dies for .223 for $39 no taxes! Along with 100 rounds of fmj .223 for $9.45 per box. Again no issues! There was one dumbass customer that had just been told that there was no taxes sale on who was looking at a Henry 22 lever action that had continued to interupt the guy who was helping me. He asks finally so how much will be the total for this gun, I had enough and told him no tax means you pay the price it says on the tag... He was quite after that!
