anyone here owns a Fausti o/u 28 inch barrel?
I found one at 1400+tx and I'm not sure how good it is for upland and trap shooting
I want a shotgun that would keep its value.
I'm interested in Marocchi but there is nothing in stock at Cabelas. Buying online isn't an option as I don't wanna spend 1500$ for a gun without checking first.

I don't own one but I know a couple of people who do. The guns are fairly well built and will work well for an upland bird hunting gun but more than just occasional use on the trap field isn't what they are designed for, more of a light weight hunting gun than a heavy target gun. As for keeping it's value, it's not going to be like a B gun where you can shoot it for ten years and then get close to what you paid for it, they just aren't in demand the way some more popular types are.

Ok Fausti makes guns at a lot different price points. From cheap to high end, You will have to give us a exact model name? Sounds by the price it is a Conrad model? If so its a decent gun made for hunting.

at 1400 + tax =1582 if you save a couple more bucks you can find a b gun with chokes. you will be happy with both I am sure. I seen a fausti at one of my local clubs one day and it was nice but I think it was a $5000 plus unit. i am not saying you have to buy a b gun to be a someone like everyone else does on the forum i am just saying it from a point of it not wearing out and holding its value.

Fausti made/makes guns to different price point, and some of the cheapest have less than stellar reputations. Their better guns are a first class product, but more than the OP's budget. I cannot personally speak to the durability of a Conrad model.
B gun is generally a Browning or Beretta, which both have solid reputation and solid resale value.

I played with one at the gun shop when I was looking for a spare 20 ga for my kids. Chose the Webley & Scot instead...fit and finish was far superior and the walnut was about 2 grades up for 400 less !!
I honestly don't think the Conrad would last (pins / springs) if you do any amount or trap shooting at all...think they're more of a field gun, same as the Webley.
I agree with the other members also...If you want to shoot some trap, you could get a nice, older, used Citori, in pretty good shape with fixed F/M chokes and a Monte Carlo stock (meant for trap) for 11-1300...I did for a little less than 1200 to my door...no disappointments at all !
Good luck with your decision...kevin

Watched a guy blow out the bottom rib and hook on a Webley and Scott three weeks ago. New gun this past spring. Turkish made. I know anecdotal doesn’t prove anything but after examining that gun, I’d be choosing the Fausti. That said, buy a B gun and don’t worry.

When you examined it, did you figure out what caused it to blow out ?? plugged barrel...over pressure ..was it a factory round or handload...any idea ?? Scary chit whatever the cause was !

Please note I said "blow out the bottom rib" not the bottom barrel. Not a scary problem, just a damn inconvenient and costly one.

I had a quick look. He had noticed a problem in the summer (he is not well versed in SxS actions) where a gap developed between the forend and the knuckle. Got in touch with retailer and they said take it to XYZ Gunshop, so he did. Their "fix" appeared to be to hammer the hook back into position, not solve whatever the original problem that caused it to move in the first place. So now the hook has been weakened AND the original problem still exists. Took about 5 shots for it to go SPROING!!! Recoil caused, one way or another, highly unlikely to cause a rupture in the barrel.

so, after a few weeks of research and after I've tried a few guns, I decided to go with a Turkish made Churchil 206 Silver 12GA. I hope it was a wise decision but the gun simply was a perfect fit and the quality seems to be good. Price is around 1K. I was reluctant to buy a made in Turkey gun but nowadays everything is made overseas and guns are not exempted. Online reviews seems to be positive.
Will keep you posted how it shoots.
Not the actual gun in the picture, just found them on the internet but it's identical
