favorite 243 loads

Not for a BLR, but here's what I use in my M70:

70gr Speer TNT's
40gr Varget
Winchester Brass
CCI LR Primers

3200fps in a 22" barrel.

Perhaps you meant 3200 + fps......for 70 grain Speer.

Ruger M77V 24" brl .Tasco WC 24X
Win. cases and LRP ..55 gr Nosler Bal. Tip

42.5 Gr. H335..3790 FPS / 3 shot Average 0.46 inch/100yds
42.0 Gr. IMR3031... 3880 fps....0.56 inch
44.0 Gr. Imr4895 ... 3800 fps....0.65 inch
These loads are MAX in my rifles...

Stayed with the 42.0 gr. Imr3031 load at 3880 fps and tested it from 200 out to 450 lazered yds...and when no wind present got several 3 shot groups at 2.30 inch.Avg./450 yds.

Tried it in my M70 Win Ranger .243 ..22 inch brl ..on 9X and got several 2.70 inch Avg. groups at 450 yds..off table and bags also....Velocity Avg..3680 fps

Tried this same load in a friends .243 at the 100 yd Range only and got 0.46 inch/3 shots.

Useing 60 gr Sierra HPT. and 41.0 gr Imr 3031 in the Ruger V..3670 fps Avg.
and 3510 Avg in the M70...will stay at < 1.0 inch/ 200yds. Not tested beyond 200 yd.

I doubt these loads would be fur friendly ...but are very Crow friendly.

Speer 90 gr FMJ using IMR4350. Your BLR has 1 in 10 rifling so it should shoot most bullet weights fairly well. You do have to work up the load for your rifle. A load that shoots well out of one rifle won't necessarily shoot well out of your's. Now is not the best time of year for hide hunting though.

42 grains RL15 under a 70 grain Nosler BT for 3500 f/s in a 24" tube (Rem 700). Also 45 grs Varget under 55 gr Nosler BT for 3800 f/s

Try a 65 grain hornady vmax over a careful load of BLC-2. I would rather not say the charge weight, but it is near the maximum. Velocity is fast and I have never had an exit hole. Sure messes up the inside though. Great accuracy.
