Looking to start reloading with my new Tikka T3 s/s .300 wm and wanted to hear of anyone's prefered loads with the TSX 180gr or Tipped TSX 180gr. Not new to reloading and and I am really only interested in those two bullet choices at this point, though anybody with some Accubond experience by all means share. Not my first kick at the can so I have checked all my resource manuals and online, just thought I might try and shortcut the process and see what others were having success with this same combo.

Thanks

I've found that somewhere around 73 grains of IMR 4831 is the "standard" load for testing a 180-grain bullet in .300 Winchester Magnum. It tends to work in a wide variety of rifles and different bullets. Often, I'll use this to test the basic accuracy of the rifle. If this load doesn't shoot, I assume that there is some prob with the rifle or the scope.

Having said that, these days, the hunting load I use in my Sako is a 180-grain Accubond with 77.5 grains of Vihtavuori N560. For me, that give the highest combination of velocity and accuracy, so it is a no-brainer. In the little bit of testing I've done so far, I've found that Accubond and TSX bullets respond similarly to powders and loads, so if I were to start playing with the 180 TSX in my .300, the two powders I'd start with would be IMR 4831 and Vihtavuori N560.

76 grains IMR 7828 under a 200 grain Accubond, these shoot nice lil groups out of my Remington 700 300 mag.

69gr IMR 4831. not quite as fast as above loads but deadly in all the 300wm I've loaded for. a few rifles showed pressure signs above 72 gr for me and my buds. this load worked very well in all of them.
