I recently bought a S&W 686 and I'm patiently waiting for a set of dies to come in. In the meantime what are your pet loads for the 38 special? TC

i load the 148hbwc with 2.7 of bullseye - the old standard bullseye load for ppc and bullseye work. A 158 lswc with 2.9 of clays or 3.3 of 231 as a plinking load and a campro 158 tmj with 3.2 of clays for odpl/idpa. all are very accurate in my k frame and l frame

Try 3.5 grs of Unique with a 148gr HBWC loaded backwards.........will expand to .75 caliber out to 100 yards from a 4" M10 and an oil drum.Went through one side and put a nice welt on the inside.Harold

Have to agree with the above. Dropped down to 2.5 grains bullseye. Was OK but group opened at 25 yards. That.2 really made a difference. All in swagged 148 grain hollow base wadcutters.

Years ago used Winchester 452AA. I hear that WST is very close. Will have to look up the load. Again wadcutters.

With 158 grain cast semi wadcutter ...l like 3.6 grains of 231.
