For me I find the Winclean to be less accurate than regular Winchester White Box in my Glock... I used to shoot nothing but Winclean 124. Accuracy was good. I switched to Win White Box 124 a while ago as Lebarons was out of Winclean. Accuracy has gone up dramatically since the switch. My power factor at Barrie was 138.04.

hmmm... funny, that's the opposite of my experience; I found that the 124gr winclean gave me a much better group size at longer distances (30m or so) than the 115gr non-WinClean I used to shoot... Interesting... Tanfoglio L.

I have to do a good test with some different ammo one of these days.
the stuff I am shooting now grouped about the size of a sandwich plate at 23yds standing. Very surprising as I usually have more flyers.
I think the roughest stuff I have shot was the AMerican eagle stuff.

Even stranger that Musky and I both shoot Glocks but yet see different results with Winclean.

Bottom line at least for me here is that is probably just a preference of White Box over Winclean. The one thing I am sure on is that 124 gives me better results over 115 or 147.

Cast my own (Lyman 355402 bullet) over 4 gr Unique (Win/Rem Brass), (Win, Rem,Fed) primers. PF 130 Standard Deviation 5 in my Tanfoglio "L". Soft shooting, accurate and economical. Make my own lube too! All part of the experience.

The glock is super accurate with the winclean ammo. It is just alittle hot. The ammo isn't much more expensive than reloading. Cost me 9 bucks or so a box. I will try some 124gr soon.

thats $4 more per box than I reload it for (115gr FMJ)
I make a bullet for 9-10 cents, you are paying 18cents.
You are spending $80 more than me per 1000rnds.
A guy working at the gunshop will try to sell you factory ammo every time.... After I asked around a bit I found that everyone told me to reload.. and yes they were right.
Much cheaper.
Consider it.

BTW, have you ever figured out a way to get squibs out without a drill?

1/4" dowel.
Had one the other day... just make the wooden rod longer than your barrel then tap it on the table... easy as can be. Mine was anyway...

I find if I order in Bulk, then it gets a bit cheaper. It's the shipping that costs.
I sell my brass off, the cost might be $30 more expensive than reloading per 1000.

Personally, I value my time more than what I'd save, pumping out rounds, and I totally refuse to go hunting for spent brass on the ground, so my benefits would be tiny anyway.

Everyone is different, I guess...

I'm the same, I can't really be bothered to pick through brass to find 9mm (I will clean up brass, though) Another eason I don't reload is because I have the attention span of a hyperactive goldfish, half my reloads would be squibs

We recently tried my 160 grn LRN out of the 9mm very soft shooters and only need 3.0 grns of powder I guess we are getting the most bang for our buck from the powder LOL

500 rounds of 124 grainers from LeBaron are about $106 tax in, with the 7% off card.

For me to reload 1000 138s on Wolf's brass, using titegroup and winchester small rifle primers costs $131.05.

So, I save roughly $70 per thousand. A thousand rounds takes, call it 3 hours to load on the 550 (be honest with yourselves guys... include cleaning brass, filling primer tubes, etc.)

I make $35/hour at work.

So no, reloading doesn't make sense.

What does make sense is Lebaron never seems to have 9mm, Sports Action charges precisely twice as much, Higginson's Powders is a 40 minute drive away, and I see Wolf left right and center at matches.

I can always get components to reload.

How much do you get paid when you are not at work?

9MM ammo up here costs about $12. a box of 50. I can reload for about $2.00 a box using my own cast bullets saving about $10. per box of 50.

If you work those numbers out and you should quit your $35. per hour job, move here, make 9MM cartridges and become a millonaire.

I'm a contractor. I get paid for as many hours as I care to waste on work.

Casting your own bullets must take a certain amount of time, right?

It's all about what time is worth to you. I feel reloading is a pain in the ass, and I should be paid for it.

Bartledan

So do I. I spent three hours casting yesterday. My hourly rate is $75.. Please send cheque for $225. :D

Take care

ps It's a hobby and it keeps me out of the malls. Opps haven't dont that since I was a teen. That was a long time ago.

Best thing about reloading I have found is you get what you want. Meaning you and your pistol together with your load.

I have to agree with Bartledan. I spent quite some time trying to get 9mm this spring/early summer, to the extent that I had to borrow rounds at the provincials (thanks again, Dr. Nick and Mrs. Nick):)

I received my new 550 press a few weeks ago, but haven't got the primers/powder yet, nor have had a chance to set up my bench. When I do I will save money (it is nice to not work sometimes) and load for my gun and sport:D

I had a hard time at one point getting any ammo, as everyone was waiting for there supplies to come in. I found out Canadian BDX or Combat masters was manufacturing ammunition. If you buy in bulk and even with the shipping, it went to approx. $180 per 1000 taxes and shipping included (shipped from Alberta to NB). So I use to shoot factory which was approx the same price in bulk, but + 15-17% GST in the atlantic provinces.
