Favorite animal to eat or hunt

Ruffed grouse, pheasant and wild turkey are all fantastic when prepared and cooked properly. Whitetail and moose as well as bear also are delicious to me. Ive eaten gator and snake and liked it as well. Lets not forget Beer braised rabbit stew. Plus all the pepperettes, sausage and jerky. I have only tried Elk once cuz we dont hunt them in my area but i liked the flavour.

I really like all wild game. Moose is probably my favorite to hunt just due to it being lower odds and in the bush so more adventure and its soo good to eat. I enjoy deer as as well but mostly do jerky and sausage with it. Wild boar is great as well. It's nice to have different options in the freezer. Right now I have elk, moose, boar and a couple different kinds of deer in there as well as some black bear sausages. We're pretty lucky to never buy beef which is great considering the price. I figure if I fill both my elk tags this year it will be over $3000 worth of protein.

Don't sleep on alpaca meat.

That being said I am looking forward for simple meat, small game, I like rabbit.
I love rabbit but my wife will absolutely not have me bringing home dead rabbits LOL
She let me know that early in our relationship..... been over 20 years we been together so it's one my few concessions. Happy wife..... happy life LOL

Moose are awesome to hunt and to eat. Bison is excellent eating, maybe even better than moose. Elk are also way up near the top eating wise.

Ruffed grouse are easily the best bird to eat. I prefer it to real chicken and/or turkey.

All of it is good though! Happy to eat anything the bush gives up. My wife and I have been together 8 years now, the only meat we eat is whatever I can bring home. Had a beef steak this spring for the first time in nearly a decade, it was very good but man, you sure notice the fat after eating so much lean meat!

I like beef the best but went on a fall bear hunt and got quite a bit of ground bear mixed with beef. The texture is very coarse with sort of a greasy black truffle finish. I am really enjoying it.

1 Moose
2 Non rutting Deer Whitetail or Mule
3 Elk
4 Bear
5 Duck/Goose/Grouse

Its all close though, and sometimes 5 is preferred to 1, or 3 to 2, etc...depending on the day
Bear makes the best pepperoni and burger, duck or goose breast wrapped in bacon on the BBQ is Super, butter grouse on rice is very good
We prefer bone-in on all our game steak, or ribs.
Salmon, rainbow, lake trout are also favourites.

Moose for sure, August mountain caribou, grouse, ptarmigan, snowshoe hare, black bear….

Honestly, it's gotta be ruffed grouse for me. They are perfect to bring the family out for because the kids don't have to be overly quiet. Really, any grouse will do for hunting (although I haven't got a crack at Hungarian's yet), but eating wise the ruffed taste the best to me.
