Favorite animal to eat or hunt

For eating, Grouse is my favorite, cow elk is basically beef, mountain goat is one of my favorites for sure, moose is up there too on the list

and black tails are pretty good, less gamy than whitetails I find

Grouse and mountain goats are my favorite hunts. (Me and my youngest 2 do a fall grouse hunt every year, and my and my oldest daughter do a fly in goat hunt every 2 years)
 
Favourite hunt: tracking and stalking whitetail in fresh snow while getting within 10-20 yards. Closest was confirmed with a laser at 7 yards 😂

Favourite to eat: deep fried turkey or BBQ deer steaks med rare

Crossbow.

It often takes hours of hard work to get so close and most times I get busted. But when it all comes together? THAT is the most satisfying hunting in my books.

When that close at ground level even blinking at the wrong time or a growling stomach will send them running.

Nice!!!

The closest I ever been to a deer was shading one down on horseback, the MOFO did a jump 90- deg into thick bush when we were neck and neck and I was touching his back... Damn horse just about followed the deer... that would not have turned out good for me... Just say'in those deer a skiddish and can go through thick bush like nothing. Never did that again.

Fat is purple.

Negative being that they cry like a dog when hit and looks like a man when skinned and hung but if you can get past that.....

Wow. Best meat ever.
