Favorite brass for reloading ???

Free and cleaned!

.....and failing that, free and dirty....then the cheapest once fired I can get, then the cheapest new I can find....that's if I can find any at all where the cost doesn't get driven up by having to ship it.

I've bought my last bag of new 300 win mag (Winchester). With tax at Labarons, it's over a buck a piece now. I'll sell the gun before I pay that again.

Have not seen any Imperial brass for a while. Only been using Remy,Winchester, Federal in all my rifles and handguns.

Wow, lot a guys here richer than me! Almost all my reloading has been with once-fired Federal/Winchester (75/25%) factory ammo I've shot myself or scrounged from non-reloading friends. Mostly for .270win and .243win.

Most of them are on their 4th reload and no signs of head seperation yet. Most of my loads are 1-1.5 grains below max, and I size with a full-length die set so they stop just short of touching the shoulder. What kind of longevity is everyone getting with their different brands?

My choices in order as fol:

Federal
IVI
Winchester
Remington.

I don't bother with Lapua or Norma unless I can pick them up as range brass. Plenty of the above mentioned for the pickings.
