Favorite buck shot loads

Hey all. Just wondering what everyone is using for buck shot loads in their frontstuffers? Im going to be experimenting with the idea over the next couple weeks to see if i can get decent patterns
 
At a recent rendezvous had some folks with trade guns - 62 cal- using 5 .350 round balls shoot our squirrel targets at about 15 yards. Patterns were similar , mainly vertical and within 1 foot radius. Would guess their powder charge at 60 grains 2f.
 
Since copper plated buck shot is so hard to find i bought muzzleloading round balls in .310" and .350" and .375" im going to play with various amounts of powder and wadding in a sxs 12ga
 
I havent had time to play with it as a muzzleloader yet but i did load some black powder buckshot loads in cut down 2.5" cases using 75gr ffg. I had killable patterns at 30 yards with a couple loads. 12 pellets of .310 averaged into a 18"x12" pattern with only a couple extending outward. Most were centered. 6 pellets of .375 landed in an average of 10"x12" at 30 yards. If muzzleloading can get me close to this ill be happy. Ive found a way to get nitro cards thru the chokes. Once i get a free morning ill get to the club to play.
 
Well i finally had time today to try muzzleloading my model 51 using the shortlane 209 adapters. Abysmal performance at best. I tried some home cast 7/8oz slugs and at 30 yards i can center punch the target with the right barrel. The left barrel slightly left. Good enough to try for deer next week in the controlled hunt. Could not find a trace of the wasp nest i used as wadding though
