Waste not want not guys!
What's your favorite coyote recipe?

Was just thinking how funny it would be to take one into the butcher along with a deer and ask for 5 pounds of yote sausage.

in a brass container, mix 42 grains of RL15 and a Federal 210 match, season with a 70 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip. Set the timer to 2 lbs with no creep and prepare yourself for some fur flying ala 3500 fps

Natives used to eat them

2-4 lbs of coyote meat
16 oz of apricot preserves
1 bottle BBQ sauce
1/2 purple onion diced
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Throw it all in a crock pot and let it cook for 8 hours. YUMMY!!

Take the backstraps. Soak them in a marinade consisting of:
1 cup Itallian dressing
4 Tsp of soya sauce
1 pinch each of salt and pepper.
1 clove of garlic.
1 dash of nutmeg.

Soak for 4-6 hours, then preheat oven to 370 degree's. Put on baking tray, and let sit in oven for 25 minutes. Flip straps over and bake for another 30 minutes. The crust should be a nice golden brown. Remove from oven, throw away and order a pizza and a six pack. Bon Appitiee.

Hmmm... Odd thread.

But it does remind me of the "threat" my BIL & I use on my sister (his wife who doesn't hunt... Thank goodness his Sis in law does eh) when we head out plinking gophers...

"I guess it's deep fried gopher cheeks tonight for supper eh!"

;)

(not that we ever shoot THAT many of the lil buggers, LOL!)

The same recipe as fish ducks.
Take 5 gallon pot and fill with water
Place a stone in the pot about the same size as the duck
Add 2 Tbl spoons of salt
Place duck on top of the stone
Boil until you can easially stick a fork into the duck.
Remove from heat and drain water
Throw the duck away and eat the rock

Sorry dude!!!!! Indians or no indians. I ain't eating no f-ing varmint dog.

I personally have been curious about coyote. We eat bears (and I love them) coon is supposedly good, cougar and bobcat is supposed to be excellent!!. Koreans raise dogs for food. I am a bit scared to try it but how bad can it be??

Apparently there are some crow recipes floating around online.

LOL you guys crack me up!

I think I'd either have to be really really..... really drunk or starving to death before I ate coyote. I did skin a squirrel up this year to see how it would taste but while I was stoking the fire up the magpies took off with my breakfast. Still having a hard time finding another of those really big gray squirrels. The little red ones don't have much meat on them.

On the other hand though I have had porcupine in a mince meat pie. The buggers are hard to skin without cutting the guts and getting green slop everywhere though. That and you almost seem to be doomed to pulling a couple of quills out of your fingers. Too bad it takes about 10 hedgehogs to get any amount of meat. They look so big when you see them crawling around.
