Favorite deer bullets or factory ammo

I have shot 7mm-08 almost exclusively for hunting for 20 years. Used Barnes X-bullets (the originals) with some great results, and mostly Noslers in Ballistic Tips and Partitions. Tried 120gr bullets once, they worked but I quickly found 140gr bullets to be the "sweet spot" for the cartridges capabilities. If I only had one bullet to use in it for the rest of time, I'd take the 140gr Partition in a heartbeat. I have yet to try Accubonds on game, so I can't comment on them just yet.

I've killed over 20 deer (BC mulies and blacktails) alone with the 180gr federal soft point off the shelf ammo out of a custom 18.5" barrelled .303 brit
I've also used .338federal, .308/30-06, 7mm rem mag ......
but my favorite for anything under 150 yards is that .303. plants them on the ground with minimal meat shok every time. done a number on a couple or so BC moose as well ;)
it's my go to rifle/cartridge for close range deer hunts.

Standard bullet off the shelf factory load is all you need for deer. No need for any Partition, TSX, TTSX, Superformance, GMX etc etc. Never used one, never will. Millions and millions of deer have been killed before these fancy bullets came along. Just a marketing hype IMO. Shot my share of deer with a .270 and 130 gr. Winchester SilverTip or Remington Core-Lokt bullet.
