Favorite hunting magazines

I am gonna give you another suggestion.... Why not post in the EE asking for mixed bags of mags?.... The older ones are so much better....I remember being a kid and thumbing through my dad's hand m down outdoor life's..... Skip to the end first, read the McManus story, skip to "this happened to me"..... Then read articles in priority sequence.....

The backwoodsman interested me most, but only 6 issues per year for $10 more than FFG (which is 12 per year) caused me to choose Fur Fish Game. Hopefully that'll scratch the itch. If not, I'll add the backwoodsman to the stack.

Fish fur and Game is a great mag. I've had a sub for 7 years, read it cover to cover.
 
Not so easy to find in the convenience stores or even most book stores ....

Gray's Sporting Journal, Sporting Classics, Shooting Sportsman, Waterfowl, Upland Journal & Covey Rise are the ones I buy regularly.
Double Gun Journal if you are a shotgunner.

Still enjoy the big 3 from time to time, but it's been too long since O'Connor, Ford, McManus, Zern, Carmichael & others have been regular contributors.

Better "bang for the buck", I think are books on your area of interest. I read & re-read several of the hundred-odd I keep at hand. Magazines inevitably wind up in the trash.
 
I ran out for groceries tonight and took a peek in the newsstand. Lo and behold there was a copy of Backwoodsman hidden in the back. I tossed it in my cart and haven't put it down since I got home. Great recommendations guys :) What would I do without ya's!?
