Favorite or go-to .308 or 30.06 rifle for hunting?

I don't own a .308 right now but my go to 30-06 is a CZ ZG-47. If you like Mausers, you'll like this gun.

If I hadn't of stumbled across that rifle, a Model 70 Featherweight or a Ruger M77 in .308 would have ended up following me home one day. If one follows you home OP, you'll more than likely be a happy guy.

For realz though, my Dad hunts with practically the same set up. It's great and I want to get one myself one day.

I'd take a .308 over a 30-06 .... ANYDAY.

Of your 3 listed I'd probably go with the Tikka but do not like that it's a long action for a .308. I'd also consider a Remington Model 7 for .308.

I've had both .308 and .30-06. I like heavier bullets and the .30-06 really shines.

I have a new production M70 featherweight compact in .308 that seems to be a pretty good "all-around" rifle.
