Hey there,

I'm looking for new websites to get data from as my Hornady manual is very limited and the Hogden data center doesn't have any 65gn game kings on it.

I also need to make a click chart and would like to know of a good freeware balistics calculator people use.

Thanks!

JBM for the ballistics calc. If you are looking for sierra bullet data you may want to get the Sierra data book or use any other 65grn data you have.

For which calibre are you looking for data? You don't need data for the exact make of bullet if you have data for another similar weight and type of bullet of a different brand. That's why you start at the bottom powder charge and work up.

You can also use the 69grn MK load data, you will be able to use a bit more powder than the 69grn Max load but use the min load as a start point.

As a new reloader Im not a fan of "close enough" :p

Well..............

69grn Max load is 26.0grn of Varget
63grn Max load is 26.4grn of Varget

By my calculations, 26.2 should be max for 65grn bullet.

I have loaded up to 27.5grn of Varget in my .223 with 69grn Sierra's with nary an issue but I worked up slowly from a lower charge.

If you are using Varget, start with 23grn and work up in .3grn increments.

If using other powders then use the lowest load for the lighter bullet.
