Are you caps or cover..? Both? Which flip up cover do you recommend and which should one stay away from? Neoprene cover or other??

I have used Butler Creek flip ups covers for many years. Inexpensive and easy to use. I prefer them over the Leupold ones.

Leupold Alumina flip caps on all of my Leupolds, and the Swaro flip caps on all my Swaro scopes. Neoprene covers on everything for the locker.

i like the leupold sock style in winter it slows down the warmup of the scope when you take it in. thermal shock has got to be hard on scopes with the parts expanding at different rates and seals and glue

I like the Vortex Defender flip caps. Much more burly than the Butler Creek ones but not as crazy expensive as the Tenaebrex ones. I also have a JSA Tactical padded scope cover for extra protection when travelling etc.

The see thru plastic lens ones just turn a scope with GREAT optics into a Bushnell Sportview ! f:P: :d RJ

Which for slugging a rifle through a snowy or rainy bush is better than not getting that quick shot you needed off with a bunged up lens.. and if time permits; back to original with a flip..

I like the butler Creek covers, they are cheap, easy to use and do the job. I just wish they were a little more durable, Ive broken a few over the years

I wish B-C would reintroduce the neoprene covers with the rubber bands. Have no need for flip caps . With the caps being on or off, I found a source for vinyl dip-molded end caps .

All my butler creeks have failed now / are currently failing. They simply do not last. The new ones from Vortex seem to be much better now. Have a set on my Nightforce SHV and will replace all my other BC's as they fail.
