trijicon accupoint 3-9x40 green dot duplex w kenton speed dial knob, 13.4 oz, 1" tube
better glass than leupold, better feel adjustments (turret and magnification ring), lift turn and lock turret (no allan key required to set to zero), 12 moa per rotation still gives enough to get a slow cartridge like a 6.5 Grendel to 500 yards from a 200 yard zero, further than i need to hunt, there is nothing more versatile under 1 lb with illumination, no batteries required
runners up - leupold 1" tube scopes and some 30mm tube scopes with 40mm objective(15.8 oz ones, nothing in the vx5/6 range...they are heavy pigs imo, they weigh heavier than advertised), was always a leupold guy but only the vx3-ish stuff
now can't give up that green dot with these older eyes, dot covers about 4-5" at 425 yards on 9x, no problem holding on coyotes at distance and definitely no issue for big game or steel work
