After watching Wild TV for the past few months and ordering a whack load of whitetail videos I have become quite impressed by some of the TV hunters. So who is your favorite and why??

I would have to say my favorite is Stan Potts of North American Whitetail. The guy is so intense when in the stand and has taken 3, yes 3 whitetails that grossed over 200 B&C all in fair chase with a bow

I also admire Chuck Adams. The guys is as humble as they come and has taken a the North American grand slam with his bow. Amazing hunter!!

Cheers!!

I 2nd Stan Potts in H.S. Prime Time bow hunt vids his way of looking at the camera in his total excitement is hilarious,I enjoy Jim Shockey hunts too,
Nothing like Grand Slamming it with a muzzle loader!

I watch quite a few hunting videos and really haven't found anyone that I really like. Don't get me wrong I really love the videos regardless and the hosts are decent enough....just no one that really stands out.

I'm not familiar with the hunters that you've mentioned with the exception of Jim Shocky, whose facination with he muzzleloader is great but drives me absolutly crazy. Always saying " this moose is number 1 with a muzzleloader", " this is a world record dik dik with a muzzleloader", " oh a world record hippo with a muzzleloader". " a world record walrus with a muzzleloader"

give me a break man, your driving me crazy!!!!!!

Then when his animal isn't the biggest muzzleloader kill of that species he'll add the twist " caught on film" for example " that has to be the biggest whitetail shot with a muzzleloader ON FILM" always seems like he's looking for an angle to make things seem better than they are.

Even though he sometimes drives me crazy he seems like a decent guy and I still buy his videos, not trying to bash him
Sorry for ranting

I have watched a number of them and I do not care for any of them really. Part of the reason is that the commercialization of hunting, which includes all these damned video's and DVD's, is much of what is wrong with the whole picture these days. It is all about making BIG money and taking BOOK heads.

Having guided at camps when film crews of some very well known individuals were there, I was left with a really bad taste in my mouth and I question the morality of some of the individuals involved in it. I have seen things that I cannot report on here......but suffice it to say I will not support them by spending my money on their products.

Cody Robbins. by far the best. he make jim shockey show and the big mule deer that he films are nothing short of amazing.

and my second favorite is the guy from easton extream bow hunting. that guy is a good host.

Jim shockey and his little camera boy and primos pro staffs member Randy Anderson love his dvds and his tv stuff was pretty cool , i just hope someday i can meet the man behind the call.

Well my buddies and myself are my favourites ! Ya OK maybe our home video of us hunting on our TV isn't what you mean but c'mon we're the real hunters not those damn guys. We work and bloody hard and hunt when we can. Those guys charge ^%&%#$^loads to those Americans and then charge us too much for their DVD's. Buy a cheap Camcorder and create your own movies. Then invite the boys over and watch the real thing !!!

When big game is envolved, I only watch hunting shows that SHOW THE SHOT. I like Newfoundland Sportsman alot but GODDAMN! They NEVER show the shot! They build up the antisipation and JUST when the guy's about to fire....the fade away....sometimes you HEAR the shot, and then they cut right to the tracking of the animal.

When I used to get the Outdoor Network on my bid satilite dish, I loved watching their hunting shows. ALWAYS showed the shot/hit. Very satisfing.

I have to agree with Ljungman with his dissapointment when they don't show the shot,I love that part! But unfortunately its almost come down to only being able to see it on DVD's.As for making my own movie,I guess I'm s.o.l. as I usually hunt with only "me" except for my annual trip to Sask to hunt with my brother 'Gilly',But that homevideo comment is a great idea IMO.
