Favorite Weatherby Generation

I would have to agree with those that find the Vanguards more accurate. My Jap. .270 WBY Mark V would only shoot one bullet under an inch, 140gr A-Frames..$$$$. My Vanguard S1 .270 Win. shoots almost everything I try into an inch.

For a short time, many years ago, I worked in the South Gate shop in the stocks department. Correct fit was of utmost importance, we even fit the pressure pad by ear to make sure there was no improper fit. Those crossbolts were removed and rebedded if there was a doubt it was compromised.

The pressure pad is an excellent way of making a good accurate rifle, learned alot by taking old Winchester and Weatherby stocks apart to see how they made there guns shoot so well.
